Daniel’s Bellevue Introduces New Bar Menu
In addition to enhancing its lunch menu, Daniel’s Broiler Prime Steaks and Chops in Bellevue has rolled out a new bar menu featuring a variety of new appetizers including, mini-cheeseburgers, gourmet pork ribs and chicken skewers. In response to the no-smoking ban, plans are underway to convert Havana Dan’s cigar lounge into a signature wine bar. Named the Vintage Lounge, the new bar will serve a large selection of premium wines by the glass. Construction is slated to begin this spring.
Daniel’s Leschi Completes Big Remodel
Daniel’s Broiler Prime Steaks and Chops at Leschi Marina recently completed a full restaurant remodel. In addition to new furnishings and décor in the main dining and private dining rooms, the restaurant now features a piano bar with live music at night from pianist Lee Brumley. Also new to Leschi are Chef Thomas Hamlin and Sous Chef Andre Decker.
Daniel’s Lake Union Open for Lunch
Daniel’s Broiler Prime Steaks and Chops in Lake Union opened for lunch late last fall and its menu includes signature dishes, such as Daniel’s Steak 21, a prime filet mignon sandwich, steakhouse steak salad and a selection of fresh fish and seafood including dishes such as fresh Alaskan King Salmon, King Crab and Copper River Salmon in season. All Daniel’s steaks, including filet mignon, are 100 percent USDA prime, the top two percent of all graded beef in the nation. The full selection of Daniel’s famous steaks and chops (including Delmonico, Porterhouse, rib-eye, and New York) as well as fresh jumbo coldwater rock lobster imported from Western Australia will also be on the daily lunch menu. Meals are complemented with offerings from an extensive Wine Spectator Award of Excellence wine list. A full bar, private in-house dining, off-site catering and other services and amenities are available.
Chandler’s Crabhouse Adds New Sun Deck
This past fall, Chandler’s Crabhouse opened The Terrace, a brand new sun deck located on the northwest side of the restaurant appointed with sweeping views of Lake Union and Gas Works Park. The Terrace adds 40 more seats to the existing dining patio. With this expansion, Chandler’s now offers outdoor patio seating for 140 guests.
Continued Success for Gretchen’s Shoebox Express
Gretchen’s Shoebox Express announced a vibrant third quarter with retail sales up 18% and wholesale sales up 14% over 2004. A new Fall/Winter menu was launched in October and introduced new “Signature Lunches” including, Shrimp Louie, Salmon Nicoise and Daniel’s Steakhouse Salad.
Columbia River Bakery Booming with Business
The American Institute of Baking has again recognized the Columbia River Bakery with its “Superior” ranking, making this the 5th year in a row that the division has achieved this honor. More than ten new items have been added to the menu, and the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin was so popular that it remained on the menu throughout this past holiday season. The company has added five new corporate clients and broke sales records for 2005.
Schwartz Brothers and Team Honored by the Washington Restaurant Association and Washington State Beef Commission
The Washington Restaurant Association (WRA) honored Schwartz Brothers Restaurants’ Senior Vice President of Administration Michael Carr with its 2005 “Host of the Year—Full Service” award, presented during the WRA Education Foundation’s annual fundraiser in December.
Also at the end of 2005, the Washington State Beef Commission presented Schwartz Brothers Restaurants with its Beef Backer of the Year award. This award program honors independent and chain food-service operations for their selection of beef offered on their menu and the marketing of beef, including promotion and wait staff training.
