Louie Richmond studied cello with Orlando Cole in Philadelphia. He attended the Eastman School of music and received a Masters in Cello from Temple University where he studied with Lorne Munroe. He was a member of the National Symphony in Washington D.C. and came to the Northwest to teach cello and chamber music at the University of Puget Sound. He was the founder of the Northwest Chamber Orchestra and served as musical director for seven seasons.
A Seattle native, Candice Chin performs regularly with the Ladies Musical Club, Philharmonia Northwest, Puget Sound Concert Opera, and in various chamber music ensembles. Her principal violin teachers include Steven Staryk, Martin Friedmann, and Ilkka Talvi.
Al Berg is a retired UW medical professor, but for his sanity has been playing solo piano (and harpsichord and organ) for many years. In retirement he has taken up chamber music, transforming music into a social activity. His current aspiration is to make "music" a verb rather than a noun, and he believes that if more people in Washington, D.C. (and other capitals), played chamber music the planet would be better off.
